Injured Canadian War Veterans plan 2010 competition in motorsports

This year the Motorsport Club of Ottawa is proud to sponsor Jody Mitic and Andrew

Kingsley, two Canadian veteran soldiers of Afganistan who were injured in combat, in

their 2010 quest to compete in motorsports. The objective of these hero amputees is

to train and enter in this years Targa Newfoundland Rally held in September.

With the help of MCO members Nigel Mortimer, team principle of Mortimer Racing,

Glen Clarke, former Targa winner and operator of Open Roads Motorsport, and under

instruction and guidance from retired Major General Lewis MacKenzie, also a racer,

we will all see it done.

Both Jody and Andrew will attend MCO's three day lapping event held April 30 and May

1st and 2nd at Calabogie Motorsports Park for personal driving and racecraft

instruction from top MCO members and sponsored fully by our club.

At Targa they will sport "SOLDIER ON" logos on their car in support of fund raising

for soldier amputees. We encourage any and all others to provide support and

encouragement to these brave and tough racers in their quest.

With over 480 Members, the Motorsport Club of Ottawa (est. 1949) is the largest

multi disciplinary non profit club of its kind in Canada. Please visit our website
