Steering Towards Hope Poker Run and Show

My name is Craig Dunbar, and I work at the Eastern Ontario offices of The Kidney Foundation of Canada.

I'm contacting you today to let you know about a great event coming up on Saturday, July 28. The event, called "Steering Towards Hope", is a morning poker run for cars and motorcycles, followed by a car, bike, and truck show afterwards. Based at Scotiabank Place in Kanata, Ontario, the poker run takes participants on a scenic drive down the Ottawa Valley, with stops in some beautiful historic towns before wrapping up back at the Scotiabank Place parking lot. The poker run route is just under 200 kilometres altogether. Participants have the option of taking part in both the poker run and the show, or paying a smaller fee to just enter the show.

Vehicles will leave Scotiabank Place between 8:00 and 9:00 am, and should be back between 11:00 and 12:00. The gates for the show open to the public at 12:00.

Once back at Scotiabank Place, the show will include a kids' fun zone, live entertainment, a firefighters' car wash for spectators, and great food vendors.

The entry fees are $35.00 for the poker run and show, or $10.00 for the show only. All fees collected go to The Kidney Foundation of Canada. We are also asking spectators to bring donations of non- perishable food items for The Ottawa Food Bank.

For the poker run, prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best poker hands.

For the show, there will be a participants' award, for the favourite vehicle as awarded by the other show participants, and a fans' choice award, as awarded by spectators. Our committee will choose their 12 favourite cars and 12 favourite motorcycles to be featured in the 2013 Steering Towards Hope calendar.

There are still a few spots remaining for the Early Bird Registration. The first 100 vehicles to register online will go in a draw for a $250.00 detailing package from Campbell Ford, or a $100 car care product package from Canadian Tire Bell's Corners store.
