2012 SNOWCROSS SERIES + ICE RACE

Hello fellow winter-racers!

Dave and I met last night and sorted out the winter schedule. Dave will be announcing the dates to the winter driving schools, but here is our schedule for the Winter Racing Series (weather dependant of course):

January 7th (Saturday): Track open for car drop off - 11am to 1pm (Scrutineering may be available)
January 8th (Sunday): SnowX #1 - Event completed!
January 22nd (Sunday): SnowX #2 - Event completed!
January 28th (Saturday): SnowX #3 NIGHT EVENT - Event completed!

February 5th (Saturday): SnowX rain-date (if needed)
February 17th (Friday): SnowX #4 NIGHT EVENT - Rescheduled (see below)
February 18th (Saturday): Track open for car prep. Times TBD
February 19th (Sunday): ICE RACE - Event Completed!
February 26th (Sunday): SnowX #4 - Event Completed!

March 10th: Track open for car pickup. Times TBD
March 17th: LAST DAY FOR CAR PICKUP

As you can see, we have a couple rain dates set aside. Depending on how the season goes and what the demand is, there is potential for more...

i am definitely looking forward to this. it'll be the first official~ish racing i've done, but i mean, i mess around in the snow drop-offs up north here, so it can't be much different, right? lol

It is still on, however all date are obviously weather dependant.

stay tuned in the next few days for an update regarding the first event.

A few questions:

Will there be tech at the first snowcross event...whenever that is?
Can we get a different number for snowcross than we have for autoslalom?
Is it pay on site only, I didn't see anything on Karelo?

Hi Gilles,

I can only comment about what we've done in the past. Shawn will have to correct me on anything that might not apply this year.

- There always has been in the past. I'm not sure who is doing it this year (Chris?).
- Numbers are usually Grandfathered in from last year. You can typically change when signing up for the first event.
- I understand it is pay online only again this year. First event to open up soon.

First event is looking good for this Sunday. The track is looking like it should be in fine shape to open. We will need help on Saturday to fill weak spots in the track with snow. I we have broken spots in the track, they become off limits for our event.

REGISTRATION FOR FIRST EVENT GOES LIVE JANUARY 4 @ 8AM (Sorry for the delay - you'll have more notice on the next ones I promise )

The first post has been updated with the registration link

Please also download and complete the tech form, and bring it the first event to be checked by our scrutineer.

Stay tuned for suplemental regs - note that they will be essentially identical to last year, other than perhaps a few scoring tweaks.

I haven't seen anything saying otherwise, but just to make sure, are the Snell 2000 helmets accepted this winter?

yes - street cars are allowed. We have had some in the past with no issues!

snow tires are HIGHLY recommended - especially if you'll be bringing your miata!

We had one out last week with the top off... it was a blast to see go
