2013 MCO Ice Race - Feb. 24

Hi,

Jay asked me to put up a quick post announcing the Ice Race. We hope past participants will return and not only that, but that they have been telling all of their friends how much fun this event is. Details will be forthcoming, but things will be done much the same as they were last year. There has been talk of a new addition to the schedule, but I'll let Jay share that with everyone.

Just spoke with Jay. A temporary membership is available for $20 and you have a month to decide if you want to use that as credit towards a full membership.

As for scoring, the rules specify that we supply our own score keeper. Can this score keeper be subbed out?

ex.: Brodey does scoring while I run,
John does scoring while Brodey runs,
Leonardo does scoring while John runs,
and finally I do scoring while Leonardo runs

Is this score keeper also responsible for keeping track of total pit time, and pit time minimums?

Emailed your question to Jay:

Depending on how many people we have, hopefully lots, the teams will not have to supply people.

I will hopefully have workers assigned to log cars on and off the track. If we have extra people on the teams to help with this great.

Not everybody shows up sometimes.

To answer your question.

When a car leaves the track the off track marshal will log the car number's time in their book and on the car's time card (time card stays with the car, and is provided). When the car goes on track, the on track marshal will log the car number's time on track in their book and on the car's time card.

It is the responsiblity of the teams to be sure they are off track the required amount of time during the race to avoid penalty.


HOPEFULLY ALL THE WORKERS WILL SHOW UP. I NEED TO FILL TIMING FIRST, ON AND OFF TRACK MARSHALS SECOND.

If those positions are covered , the teams should be in the clear , but helping out with crowd control while you are watching and other things as they come up will be helpful.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A FUUUUUUUUUUUUN EVENT. WHEN EVERYBODY HELPS OUT, IT MAKES IT MUCH EASIER.
