Hey all,
I bought a '92 240SX hatchback just before Christmas. I plan to transform it into a track car for Solo 1 this spring, however, before that happens the car will serve as my winter beater to save a few klicks on my RSX and a few bucks on insurance. The first order of business was to fix the rusty floor. Last Sunday, Jeff Graves (Graves Tuning and Fabrication - who knew!) and I started on the floor restoration project. We worked 2 marathon sessions from 8:00AM to 10:00PM on Sunday and from 5:30PM to 2:00AM on Monday. [xx(] [grin1]
After dismantling the interior we chipped away most of the sound deadening material, cut out a lot of the floor and some of the rocker pannels, grinded painted surfaces, cut and shaped most of the 4'x2' sheet metal, tack welded and hammered the metal patches and finally seam welded it all back totgether... Pheeww! It's a thing of beauty now and we expect the new floor patches will outlast the rest of the car! A big thanks to Jeff for slogging it through and doing a superb job saving seat belt attach points, seat rail mounting points and fitting and welding the new floor together. As you will see Jeff's work continues to amaze. [eek] [happy]
Cheers!
