They are asking for etched glass at the garage but the documentation only says "approved by ANSI". It's part of their little exercise in getting the little anglo off to Ontario where he belongs (I've never lived in Ontario!!). They actually said something very close to that believe it or not. Honnetement, je cherche des mots...

Funny you should ask. It has been started and running, and they said they would deliver it to my house tomorrow! I have a dyno tune appointment for the week after next. MAYBE even in time for St. Eustache...

Not intending to license for the road at this point, and NEVER in Quebec State. They can forget ever bothering with me again. I'll teach them!

Starts, runs. Sounds good actually. Bit of a mess with the wiring, and I have to make a new dash, but there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. It's still quite a long tunnel, however.

Well, my car has been dyno'd, and is getting 15 lbs of boost, which seems nuts. Only 174 rwhp which is a bit disappointing, but hey. I have a lot of wires to clean up, and the exhaust needs another bracket bolted on, but once done, we are back in business.

174bhp @ the wheels for 1000 lbs car should be fine :)
So is it going to be a trailer "Queen" ?

Took the old dash off in preparation for new instruments. Disaster in the wiring department. The engine wiring is leaving me speechless, and the under dash wires look like spaghetti. Managed to install the magnets to the prop shaft, made a bracket and installed the sensor to the chassis for the new speedo though, and got going on the new dash. Wipers are reinstalled too. We'll see how they work now, once everything is together.

Exhaust brackets bent appropriately and bolted on (that was a bit of a job, managed to fry more than one drill bit going through the steel brackets). New upper rad hose installed too.

Need to find room for all the relays and fuses, AND the computer.

Dash wiring is always a pain. I re-wired my entire dash last year, and I did my best to keep it organized, clean and wire tied up the crap out of it... you need to be VERY anal to make dash wiring look good.

I feel like I have bent over to take what this whole project has thrown at me, and it makes my bum sore. But you just carry on... nobody told me it would be easy.

All wiring trimmed and ready to put onto switches and relays. Need to drill some holes in the new dash for mounting bolts, make another console for switches, and as they say in my neighbourhood: "that's it". My third go at wiring has been actually enjoyable. Of course, we don't know if it will start again after my surgery. It was running pretty well prior to the wiring changes.

Merci, Pierre, pour l'adresse!

Stuck on wiring. Had everything connected, dash made, switches in etc. Nothing. I give up. Seriously.

Some lights work now. I can't give up; my head would hurt if I stopped hitting it on the garage floor. :insane:

MTO has given me a VIN, and I didn't even have to threaten them, or show any emotion whatsoever. You may hear me driving by a neighbourhood near you soon, especially since it actually has a heater. If you can't hear me, then call my office.

That's good news! How the heck did you manage it, it seemed like it would be impossible?

i am a very slow learner, but i decided not to talk and follow the intructions to the letter. i had a lawyer stamp my sworn affidavit saying i built the car based on the enclosed list of kit contents, and not take too many receipts in with me. less to go wrong you see. 10$ for the lot as i proved i had already paid pst/gst onthe "kit".

now what tires do i run next year? size limited to 13x8

Back to the drawing board. Currently thinking about another project. It's been "kind of" fun while it lasted the past 4 years.

No insurance possible in Ontario. This will be a good deal for a track car for someone next spring. I'm not interested in trailering all over the place.
