Mandatory Paperwork
For you to participate, the series organizers must have each of the following forms completed and filed for you and your car:

- 2012 MCO SoloII Registration Form
- 2012 MCO SoloII Self-Tech Form

Both can be found here: http://www.mco.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=270:autox-rules-2012&catid=12:autocross&Itemid=15

Complete the forms and bring them with you. Note that if you're note mechanically proficient, you should consider having your Self-Tech form completed by a professional mechanic. We recommend Canadian Tire on Carling -- call ahead and ask for Ralf.

The background information series rules and classing necessary to complete your registration form can be found here: http://www.mco.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=270:autox-rules-2012&catid=12:autocross&Itemid=15. It is your responsibility to read and understand fully of this material.

Notes About Registration
If you have a competition number that has been confirmed to be yours by series organizers (see this thread: http://www.mco.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14150 ), be sure to enter that number into Karelo when registering. If you have a number but fail to enter it into Karelo, a volunteer has to look you up on the system, find your number and enter it manually so that the timing software doesn't create a duplicate of you and assign it all of your points for that event.

If you do not have a number, contact el_torpedo or see the above thread to get a number before registering. [/b]

As well, please double check that your class is correctly displayed in Karelo. There are several cars which continually show up incorrectly because of errors in the Karelo save data feature, and it adds a surprising amount of time to my night prior to the event trying to get things sorted.

Entering a number into Karelo that you haven't already reserved in one of the ways above has following effects:
- you make a volunteer take time out of his Friday or Saturday night searching for registrants who have tried to claim numbers that aren't theirs, thereby frustrating the process of setting-up timing for the event
- you really annoy the volunteer, who more often than not, does timing at the event and knows everyone by name, face, and car.

If I brought my Dad and let him drive my car for his birthday (fun-runs don't require registration right?), would that be okay Alain?

Fun run are for competitor only. Your dad needs to compete all day. He can't walk the course ahead of a fun run. Sorry, safety first...

You and your dad should co-drive all day, now THAT would be a nice gift! =) Around $50 for non-member including helmet rental, not bad!

For fear of my tires, another 18 runs or so might be a bit more than I expect this season ;). You guys are right though, that would be pretty awesome.

Your tires will be fine and if they're not, buy more.

My Dad will be registering late too, he's kind of in Maine and I can't get any communication to him. Just in case...are any exceptions allowed for non-Karelo Registrations? I'll make him show up early and work his butt off to get everything setup if it came down to that  .

Why don't you just register him yourself if he is a guaranteed show.

Postby Scruffy » Wed Jul 25, 2012 11:33 pm

Come on guys! :o Only 26 registered so far...

I do understand that there are a few people that have specified that they are a guaranteed competitor, but are unable to register at the moment. However, there can't be 40 of ya! :nono:

I really hope to see this number grow significantly tomorrow. :)

There are only 4 events left. After this the next event isn't until August 18th. Then it's another waiting game until September. I know this is because of St. Eustache & Autocross Championships (in Toronto right?) but for those of us who aren't attending those, this event is key! It'll be 3 weeks before the next one, then another 3 weeks before the following event.

Let's Do This! :drivin:

In another thread someone mentioned bumping the registration deadline up to prevent so many late registrations. Seems like a solid idea to me. 11:59pm on Thursday night should be good?

I'm not registering for him because technically if I agree to terms for him and create a profile in his name, it is worth moot (policy/fraud/unethical)....so that is why. Also, my Dad is a pickle finger typist....if that helps things along.

While the enthusiasm is appreciated, it would be a difficult to move up the deadline 2 days, with only about 12 hrs notice. Many competitors visit this site only occasionally. Doing what you advocate could cause artificially low numbers due to a greater number of people missing the deadline.

There is always room for improvements in how we do things, but there are also constraints that are not always obvious to the typical competitor. Once more, the enthusiasm and suggestions are appreciated.

The problem is some people like my self don't have disposable income and have to wait till pay day on Friday to register!! So bumping registration Thursday will end up lossing people to participate in events.
