Shout out to Carl/Perry Performance.

thought i would take the time to thank Carl/Kevin/Alex at Perry.

they've always been a great asset in the past past and this time was no different.

on my recent order they were able to recommend good quality stuff, at prices cheaper than anything of poor quality, local OR online.

for those hesitant about a trip to montreal, shipping costs less than you might think, and stuff always arrives at my door 2 days after ordering.

Carl and Kevin have definitely been a big help. They are the first guys I talk to when I need something.

Well huge thumbs up from me to Carl today. He spent nearly 3 hours with me going over suits and shoes etc. Lots of great info i learned a ton, spent a ton and Carl hooked me up with the sickest gear around and even sicker prices.

I saved nearly a grand with Carl over online or other shops!

Oh then stopped for smoked meat on the way home and may no longer fit in suit i bought lol

James it was nice seeing you again and yes, the off season is the best time to get me for fitting and advice.
I see that you found your smoked meat on the way home, but next time, make it Schwartz's and you will see the difference.

What Carl said, I've done a two hour detour to get Schwartz's smoked meat.

Yeah Smoked Meat Pete's if in Ile Perot right off the 20. There can be a bit of a line sometimes but not like Schwartz's.

It's quite good. I don't find it better or worse than Schwartz's, just different. More spicy and smoky.

Also worth trying is the Dunn's (This is NOT the same as Dunn's in Ottawa) on Rue Metcalfe Downtown or on the Decarie as well as the Snowdon Deli on Decarie near Queen Mary.

+1 to Carl and the crew at Perry Performance. Carl spent close to 90 minutes with me today when all I was looking for was a new helmet. He showed me around the shop. I had no idea they had soooo much stuff in inventory. Tonnes of selection in colours, brands and sizes. They had everything I needed in stock. I'm not going to say Carl alone was worth the drive, but once you throw one of these bad boys in the mix, it definitely made the day. (Sorry for the crappy phone photo.) Thanks for the tip, James, Physk!

The exit off the 40 WB is closed, so you have to loop around and get it EB. (f'ing Montreal!) ;)

Nice find, but read this, its my sentiment....

You need to know what to ask for. As a Montrealer, don’t be a tourist in your own city. Having eaten Schwartz’, Smoke meat Pete and the like more times than I can count, it is easy to figure out what’s good and what is the volume shlock for those who don’t know better. If you go into Schwartz’ and just order “meat”, the results may be the same as a hand of blackjack. The majority of briskets are larger, pinker and and not as intense as others. Thinner or more well done briskets that are darker in colour and have a heavier concentration of spices (end cut is best) have the spice, texture and saltiness that makes Montreal smoked meat fabulous. For the record, I do find Smoke meat Pete’s to be juicier, but NOTHING beats the RIGHT cut of Schwartz. Know what to ask for.

Hey I guess we should rename this thread - Smoked meat side trip!

I didn't know people went to Schwartz' for the food. I thought it was for the line ups and squashed eating arrangements. It CAN be great though.
