LANARK HIGHLANDS FOREST RALLY

Postby Jane » Mon Apr 09, 2012 1:33 pm

The field for the 2012 Lanark Highlands Forest Rally, near Perth Ontario, to be run May 5, 2012,is filling up. With only 30 spots available you may miss out competing on one of the greatest rally roads in Canada! The WRC used this road in 1972 and 1973 during the Rally of the Rideau Lakes. We at the Motorsport Club of Ottawa revived this road in 2009 and this year is the fourth running of the event.

Get your registrations in before April 21, 2012 to save $75 on the entry fee. Go to http://www.lhfr.ca to register.
We hope to see you in the Highlands.

Dont count to much on a big competition. After two year with out rallying and with a new mecanic in the car that will be more a shake down for us that a Rally. I would like to fight stage time with you in a near futur but your prety fast and that will not be an easy task.

See you soon.

You are smart to treat this as a shakedown!

It will be good to see you back on the stages in your rally car, no matter what. Maybe you'll be up to speed with all the bugs worked out and give us some good competition at Black Bear... you beat us by 14 seconds there in 2010.. I'm sure you didn't forget :-)

Does anyone know if there's been any emails to the volunteers/workers? I signed up on the website and haven't had anything come through my inbox.

There have been a few worker request emails going out. Robert is co-ordinating the workers but if you're looking to verify that you're on the list I can confirm that for you if you give me a name.

Hi,

I send out periodical updates to volunteers/workers and I guess you filled in the form in between emailings. I should be sending out additional info this weekend.

Twenty six entries in leaving only four spots left to grab! Then we'll be taking names for the waiting list as there is usually a last minute withdrawal or two. If you're thinking about doing this event, now is the time to sign up :)

It's interestting to see how the new OPRC seeding system has changed the start order... it would have been Vincent, Matthew, Haywood. I'm not sure Chris will be too happy being 1st on the road, there's been a lot of loose gravel in the past. That will likely depend on weather they township laid down fresh gravel since last cottage season... 8th is a good start position... I hear that's likely going to be 7th as Petty K. blew up his motor testing according to mlrc forums, which really sucks... we love competing against Petty!

Peter hasn't officially withdrawn so we're hoping that he's looking for a new motor to put in his car :)

Let's hope he finds one and can get it installed in time... usually the problem with us grassroots competitors is the unexpected change in budget, not the actual finding of the parts and doing the job:(

Chris will have to deal with it!!! Hopefully it slows him down some so the rest of us can keep up, but I doubt that will happen!!

Looking forward to a great event, seems odd that we won't have even been out in the car in 6 months!!

We're in the same boat as Nick and Kelly, haven't run since Pines but really looking forward to it! 6th on the road sounds perfect to me, just swept enough for my liking! ;)
