GCFR 2016 Worker Search #1

Postby kdev » 2016.05.30 08:27:01 AM

Well folks, It's that time of year again, time for the organizers of GCFR to start recruiting volunteers.

If you weren’t already aware GCFR and Black Bear have changed places in the schedule. With GCFR now taking place July 8-9 and Black Bear Rally on August 8.

The rally will take place Saturday July 9 in Catchacoma (approx 60 km north-east of Peterborough) with recce taking place Friday July 8.

Location: HQ and service park has been moved from the community center to the Parnell Contracting Quarry. This effectively eliminates any transit mileage and with no public road transits, allows competitors with cars that aren't licensed and/or insured to compete. The organizers will provide a lunch for all workers and a T-shirt for those that pre-register.

We will again be using Motorsportreg.com for our registration. The link for the worker page is: http://msreg.com/gcfrworker16.

In terms of running the event we have all types of roles to be filled, including:

Course Cars
Amateur radio operators
Mid-stage traffic control marshals
Start/Finish control marshals.

If you have a particular location/role that you would like, please note it in the comment field and we will do our best to accommodate the request. If you have any questions about the roles drop me a line.

In the event of issues using MotorsportReg, there is an alternate method of registration available on the event website listed below.

We're inside a month to go and we still need volunteers for nearly every role.

Any questions you have let me know here or via email. gcfr.workers-at-gmail.com

GCFR is still short of workers -- no experience necessary. Please come out and help if you can!

For the first time in quite a while, I'm going to be a competitor so can't volunteer. Hope some MCO'ers and others can help!

Are any HAM radio operators or stage start/finish people available for GCFR? We'd love to see more MCO'ers out there!

Don't forget . . . people from other clubs come out to help us at LHFR. Please help if you can. :chug:
