2010 Marshalling

2010 Marshalling

Postby MaryM on Sun Jan 17, 2010 3:40 pm

The new year is upon us and we have a new group to support marshalling.

MCO is now an accredited marshalling club and we have our own Marshal Education Committee. We can issue log books and move people up through the levels without having to go to any other clubs. This is a new stage.

Anyone who is a marshal or would like to be a marshal - PLEASE let us know. We want to support you -- and, per usual, we desperately need more marshals for the Ted Powell weekend.

I know this is early in the year, but we don't want to be scrambling at the last moment.
- Anyone who is intending to work the MCO race, please let us know.
- Anyone who is considering working the event, please let us know.
- Anyone who might like to work the event, please let us know.

Just a note to endorse Mary's message. MCO continues its work vis=a-vis marshalling at CMP, and in Ontario Region. Get involved early.

Director Responsible for the Support of Marshalling in MCO

This position is one I undertook in January of this year. However, that is a little late to be taking on these duties. I must admit that I feel like I have been running all year to try and catch up. Also, because I have never been a marshal, I feel that my knowledge is somewhat inadequate for the role.

If you haven't guessed by now, i am looking for someone to pass this on to. I personally think it should be someone with a valid marshals licence, but I'm sure the executive will be happy to consider anyone who is willing to volunteer.

I am hoping to discuss this at the September executive or general meeting. So, if you would like the job, please let me know.

I would really like to have an opportunity to try this, i do have a general knowledge of Marshaling, but again if they are looking to have someone that is more qualified, then i may not be the candidate. But i would definitely like to volunteer.
