AtomicGTiR - Alex's Maps

Postby AtomicGTiR » Thu Apr 28, 2011 8:44 pm

For 2011, I'm hoping we can bring back some old favored design as well as fresh new track ideas.

My focus is based on the following criteria:
-The ability to run 2-3 cars at a time
-At least 50sec runs
-Smooth flow track layout, avoid the sea of cones effect
-Avoid sewers and other rough part of the lot
-Ideally, can be ran in either direction.

Here are a couple I have worked on over the boring winter months.

The maps were created using Photoshop CS3 and layers so I can easily remove sections and modify track layout if there are any concerns.

I think both of these courses are pretty good.. AP2 might be a bit quick in places, so we may have to play with some angles to keep the flow, but reduce the speed.

AP3 looks like lots of fun, but the stop may have to be moved farther away from the spectator area as a 'just in case'

Good courses though!

Same here, AP2 looks awesome but is REALLY fast.

I'll continue to try and direct traffic to this forum, but if that doesn't work maybe we should try posting maps in the committee forum.

In the revised AP2 (it may have been there in the original version, as well) you have a loop around what appears to be a single cone. I think this section needs a double coned gate at the entrance, and at least another gate on the end of the loop opposite the double gate. As it's drawn now, it would turn into a "who's-got-the-tightest-turning-radius" battle for that corner. That's not really an autocross course element.

Otherwise, the maps look pretty good to me.
