Ted Powell Race Committee - Next Meeting April 16th

The next meeting of the 2012 Ted Powell Race committee is Monday April 16th at 7:00pm. It will be at Steve Greiner's place near Algonquin College. If you don't know the location, you can call either of us for directions.

MCO is hosting the 2012 Ted Powell Race weekend, Sept 1-2, 2012 at Calabogie. This is a HUGE event for our club. Also that weekend is the Friday test day and a Thursday evening lapping event.

The race weekend will include all the Ontario series: FV-1200, Formula-1600 (OFFC), GT Sprints, GT Challenge, Formula Libre (we expect many sports racers looking to capture the track record), Vintage Historic and Vintage G70+. The headliner for the weekend is the Canadian Touring Car Championship. We also have interest from some of the Quebec racers.

Where will we fit all the cars? Easy - we are racing the LONG TRACK!

The challenges to host this signature event are daunting. The Race Committee needs your help. Through the work of many hands (meaning: you and all our members) we can present this work-class event.

The Race Committee will be hosting our monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of the month, starting January 24th. The meetings will be at the Tifosi Lounge (St Anthony's Soccer Club on Preston), starting at 8:00pm. This is the same night and location as the MCO Executive meeting.
