I wouldn't mind trying Amigo if others were up for it. For me Top Karting is where you go because there is no place else to go. Although I'm still a little bitter about getting gas dumped on me when my gas cap came off on the track.

Capital Karting had a smaller track, but were much better organized and maintained their karts really well. Too bad they aren't around anymore.

Ok, I moved the thread. It started with trying to gather support for Solo II against the club. Appears to be supported.

"Lol ... they do at Karters Korner ... though those are the kiddie carts that go about 3km/h!"

....LOL good one. Well in response, why doesn't MCO issue an indoor winter challenge to NCKC. Many of our guys run one and would love to hook up for a larger field. You can join the NCKC web site forum and post there.
Our 12 year olds run 90KPH one inch off the ground and have been racing since they were 8. They are absolute rockets in 500 restrictor plate hondas and run lap times close to the adults. Most of them are better drivers. Something to ponder. Kiddies!!!!
Amigo does look like a better and larger facility, but it being outside makes it subject to weather disruptions. Also, it gets dark outside pretty early now, so we'd be looking at a weekend. It is located Here.

Top Karting is indoors, available to us pretty much any evening. Located Here.
Amigo has night lights. We often rent the whole track and go when it is dark out. Makes it even more fun. You see sparks and glowing exhausts.

My guess is that this will not happen unless someone steps up and organizes it.

Also I think the season is too fresh, people need a little break, as much as I want to do it, a little time off is nice to have, slush & slide is a few months away, and the x-mas rush is only a month and a bit as well YIKES!

I'll check on availability and cost at Amigo for next week(evening) or weekend. I'll post the info and ask for those interested to help choose a date.

Once we have the date, we'll ask for RSVP by the end of this week.

If not enough people sign on, we can wait and go indoors at some point over the winter.

Regards,
Greg

I've emailed and left a voice mail with Amigo. They are only open on Friday evening and on the weekend. According to their website with a group of 10 or more, we could do 40 minutes for $50 per person. Without the group rate, we would pay $29 per 20 minutes. Hopefully I'll have more information soon.

If you are interested, can you please PM me and let me know if you would be unable to make it on any of the following dates:

Friday Oct. 28th (evening)
Saturday 29th or Sunday 30th (afternoon)

Thanks,
Greg

PS.

Please indicate the discipline you wish to represent. In the spirit of Dave's challenge, we will award points for each finishing position. Each driver's points will be added to the total for their discipline.

Please feel free to cross-post in the forums of the other disciplines to let them know the reasons you feel they don't stand a chance.

If you know anyone who might be interested in attending, please invite them to come along and either have them PM me, or message me on their behalf.

Most of the rally gang will be tied up with the Lanark Highlands Rally on Saturday night the 29th. Registration opens at 7pm, the rally starts at 10pm, runs all night, and finishes 6am on Sunday morning.

Friday 28th might work okay, but I'm afraid you guys will gang up on me and punt me into the weeds. I wouldn't want to risk getting hurt and having that ruin my rally night.

I know you Solo-II types get tired and need to take a long break after every little 2-minute run in your girly cars, but us iron(wo)man rally types will only just be getting nicely warmed up after an intense 8 hours overnight on the most amazing roads in all of Ontario. So, of those three dates, Sunday evening is probably the best time for us to come karting.

The Lanark Rally, coincidentally runs on the 29th, is the biggest rally MCO does. 29 teams so far, entries from Boston, New York, New Hamsphire, Montreal, local and southern Ontario. The event requires about 30 volunteers to run.

At least to me, anybody running the Lanark shouldn't be out Friday night competing, because the next night is pretty relentelss on the heavy duty technical driving. It's possible of course, but I wouldn't recommend it. Anybody running the Lanark would not be fit to compete anymore on Sunday the 30th. Bad weekend if you want any rally guys to show up (and kick your arses!), and if you want me to contain the "hell fury" for picking a conflicting date on a major event.
