Karting -AMIGO

Postby CrashCymbol » Sun Oct 30, 2005 11:46 pm

Well I'll start out by saying OMG that was so much fun!

Deffinately took a while to adjust to: steering, braking, staying on the gas...but I think I had myself mostly sorted out by the end of the time.

I'm supposed to be heading out to dinner now, but I just wanted to again thank the organizer (sorry I forgot to do it in person) for a great event. I would highly recomend having a recurring event like this as it made for a hell of a lot of fun.

Also it was good to see Ferd/Christoph out, even after their Lanark venture.

I never thought my car would feel like a boat. After riding that go-kart around and around for what seemed like an hour, it sure felt like one. If there was an award for the greatest amount of spinouts and stuffing it in the tires, I would have won it. I managed to do it 5 times and broke off the steering by going straight in the tires after what felt like a little nascar tap from behind in the corner. I was glad to see the checkered flag. I think the results will be announced and I'm at the bottom of the pack, I stink of gas ( the gas tank on my first kart was not closed properly) but had fun like hell and would do it again (next year) 8)

It was great, I'm sore as hell. My car doesn't feel like a boat unlike a miata [poke] but it did feel very soft and comfy compared to those karts.

I'd be in to do that again!

Video to come soon enough, I want to make it good :)

I was 2nd last. [cry] Kart # 24. But a big thumbs up to Greg for organizing the outing. :D

I started at the back too..finished at the back...care of:

1 Lack of confidence
2 Spins
3 Recovery times from spins
4 Brake fade towards the end
5 Complete lack of trust in ability

Without question guys, this was a hell of a lot of fun. For those of you who couldn't make it out this weekend, it's a shame you missed it, but you'll have to come out next year for round two of the inter-discipline challenge.
