Question regarding the Competitor registraction form

Postby Tgrasshopper » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:25 pm

How many points would I get if I upgrade my subaru WRX transmision for a STI 6 speed?

I'm thinking the anwser is: 6 points?
change of transmission(gearing different then stock)+2
add limited slip differential +4

the tranny come with the LSD do I take the 4 point anyway?

Interesting...

Bruce, given this - if you do an engine swap and thus need a new transmission would you just take the points for the engine then, and not for the transmission?

I would think the regardless of your swap package, you would have to take the points for what you are changing (so Transmission + LSD).

I'm just curious and trying to get a better understanding...

Question for original poster. Are you adding a LSD to the car? If you are then you take the points for that as well, 4 pts. In total 6 pts.

To Shawn, you would take the points for both engine and transmission. They are two separate items.

I did look a bit more into it the WRX already has LSD in the Original transmision(front LSD), but in order to fit the transmision I have to change the rear differential and it come with a LSD.

a guest the anwser is 6 point.

I tought the LSD was in the transmision.

let's me know if I'm wrong

Also, do you take points twice for two different differentials being changed/added?

bjackson is the final word on these matters. If you would a definitive assessment, I suspect you'll have to:

a) weight for the 2011 classing rules to be released
b) if (a) doesn't clarify it, contact Bruce directly

Should be straight forward from there.
