That hasn't been out for 24 hours, and already a good dozen people are pissed and planning a protest.

Love regionals...
Greg.

Not completely true, It's just the typical pre-season adjustment and those that attended the workshop were just a bit taken by surprise when what was agreed at the workshop by the group didn't turn up. It'll all work out in the end, no big deal. No one is planning a protest at all, we're all one big happy family.

Hey Schmoo,

It's actually nothing major, I originally proposed the ST classes to allow a series of 3 simple classes to act as a catch all for anyone that drove into an event wanting to try out what it's like to run in the series. The simplified classing structure was intended to provide new people or veterans the ability to run "just for fun" without the need for super duper ultra close classing structure or be part of the standard classes. It was just part of the evolution of the "friendlier" series. For the most part, it was a huge success and was adapted into the core series.

During the workshop, those that attended voiced their opinion on how the evolution of th ST classes should be for 2011, but there were lots of topics discussed at the workshop, so the ST classes and the interpretation of ST classes got accidentally mixed up with the SCCA rules dicussions. The net result is a rule book which did not reflect the original intent of the ST classes (as explained above). There will be a bulletin issued shortly to rectify the topic. So as I said earlier, it's no big deal, and there's no real drama.

Hope this helps.

As we use a different classing system no, but there will be changes made to the forms this year for other reasons.

Seriously looking forward to the Rumble and the accompanying hilarity. Can't believe it's only a month away.

See you then!
