Awesome. The CASC Time Attack (fka SoloSprint, fka Solo 1) events are fantastic and look to be getting even better. I ran part time for several years and did the whole championship in 2005. I would do it again in an instant. It's too bad we didn't have enough participation to support SoloSprint events at Calabogie. Hopefully the allure of a local track will grow the interest level.

Good to hear that the new format is doing well!

As for CMP, there has been lots of interest and MCO participation in the two past events; it has just been much less expensive to run an event at Mosport (and much more expensive to run at Tremblant or the Glen).

I don't know about now, of course! :-)

IMHO, the economically viable format is a three-day event with two 3-hr race enduros, time trials, and lapping/school. Mind you, pretty much everyone has disagreed with me. ;-)

Shannonville is not that far, so come on out everybody that wants to try Time Attack.

Some Ottawa peeps go there for a two hour lapping session in the evening, so why not try the new and improved Ontario Time Attack on Saturday OR Sunday OR both days. It is a great opportunity and a great price for the amount of lapping AND timed sessions.

Regular event fee is $160 per day up until June 8th. Walk-ins have to pay $175

I was going to do this event as a training session for the CASC regional event in July...until I heard they weren't using the long track. If they are using the pro course...why not just do the long course. Is it s a marshalling issue?

It is not Marshalling issues. It has to do that the series runs different track layouts. In Shannonville there are four options and they will all be used during the season. This time it is Nelson and Pro, in September it is Fabi and Long Track. Same at the DDT, there are many different ways to configure the track.
At Mosport big track there is only one way around ... and that is FAST!!!! :drivin:

That doesn't really help. The form is where??

Fourth, register for the event(s), this can be done at either the open house, online, by mail, or in person. Please see our registration page for more information.

 can't wait to find out that I'm probably staring at it and just don't know it. lol.

Wow, not sure where it is and I spent awhile looking around! You used to have to register (separate from your forum username) and then a few new options opened up on the menu. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore though.

Try the CASC forum I guess, and maybe suggest they make it really obvious on the main Time Attack page.

ALL forms are here on the Time Attack section in the CASC website.

http://www.casc.on.ca/timeattack_forms

There are THREE pages of forms!!! Looks throught them and fill out those that you need. All links are there to fill out the forms that you need (plus a lot more forms you'll never need).

The "ON-line registration" is only by emailing the filled out form to the Registrar[ontariotimeattack@gmail.com]

Register your car here: http://www.macrocosm.on.ca/ccdb/, fill out the forms, SAVE & SUBMIT this and PRINT it out. These forms give you the car classification automatically, you do not have to add anything up, just enter your modifications truthfully or to the best of your knowledge. You can play around a little bit to see where you would end up with a different setup and save each setup under a new car name ... or setup # 1 etc ...
If the submitted classification sheet is not approved yet, just bring the printed form to the event and register it there.

I like the Facebook Time Attack site, here is "Everything you want to know about Time Attack: http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages#!/notes/ontario-time-attack/everything-you-need-to-know-about-time-attack-in-5-mins/150068895054797

need more help ... ask me, I will try to answer

Glad you could get registered. It seems to be a little complicated for the first time or if you only do one event, but once the info is all "in the books" it is a breeze for the rest of the season.

What about others from MCO, there was some interest a little while ago ??? Pat, Greg K., Arek ???

There will be lots of Lapping before and after the timed runs and at least three to four timed runs (5 laps each).

See you in Shannonville ...

:D should have been doing this sooner. Fun event, runs very smooth, lots of track time if you've got the gas for it. Lapping run groups in the AM, lunch time lapping if you want it... timed runs format was well organized, luv that format, makes for intense 3 laps. Even more lapping at the end.

Ran protrack, got a 1:19.3 as my best on NT01s, backed it up a few times, good enough for 4th in GT1.
MCOs finest would do well there.

Next up , bogie Thursday, see ya there or on the weekend..

hey Klaus, any chance they make the morning lapping times available?

Hey Greg

It was great to have you and Kevin? participate this weekend. Did his Miata have issues? I didn't see him run in the afternoon. Running 79.3 is a good result in GT1, congrats! There are several good drivers in Solo 2 who I'm sure would also enjoy the next Shannonville events on Fabi and the Long track on September 10 and 11. Sorry about the timed laps in the morning they aren't published generally.

ya Kevin had some engine trouble during the last lapping session. That's ok about the timed laps from the morning, I should really get a GPS timer anyway. Was just curious if I went faster in the am :) probably not, I felt I had better laps in the afternoon anyway.

Happy to see a few more MCO members at the event this weekend. Too bad Kevin had the car troubles.
Good job on your 4th place in your first Time Attack event Greg. There is some tough competition in GT1.

They do not keep score for the morning lapping. Timing may use some of the lap times from the morning lapping as help for gridding the first run.

They did a really good job at sorting the cars. And resorting if needed, I don't think anyone caught the car in front unless they had an off.

Watching the vids now, wow my best run really was my best run, so smooth, nailed my marks, the other laps all had one mistake here or there, and forget about morning lapping, I don't need to know those times, braking way too much.
