You can get facility insurance if you have a VIN. Depending on your record it should be less $1000/year. THat is how most Locosts are currently insured.

The final word has not been spoken. I have oral confirmation that all will be OK. I live in QC and the car is registered in ON. This has been the major problem with the vintage insurers. Anyhow, sorted I think.

I was able to insure my kit car (Fiero, rebodied a la Ferrari 308) through my State Farm agent: no real problem.

Just a few things crossed my tiny mind when I was out this morning up to Gatineau Park.

1. It is mental fast
2. It has eff all traction
3. It is toasty warm even in this weather, with a helmet, leather jacket and gloves, wearing runners
4. The engine ran great; the brakes worked; it was very stable over the bumps, of which there are WAY TOO MANY!
5. I drove for about an hour and a half and was exhausted afterwards. Fibreglass seats with no padding can be very comfortable if they fit the person, which these do me
6. Motorcycle helmets are way heavier than carbon/kevlar racing helmets, at least mine is

I want another bike, but am banned from ever riding same, even though I pay extra to keep my license! Life is so unfair.

Firstly...good for you, makes perfect sense given the car.
Secondly...seems like a good way to get stopped by the QPF.

Why would I get stopped? It's perfectly legal with Ontario plates. And honestly, only a nutter would exceed the speed limit in this weather, with this car. I have seen one ditch too many in my life.

Well, after a bit of a down moment, due to CRAP roads, I have the engine out and am transferring all the good bits to the new JDM engine. Rebuiilding old one, and am awaiting parts. Have gaskets, water pump, new intercooler/piping, and head bolts. Plan to get crank ground and balanced at the very least. Have larger wheels, and engine mounts are 1/4" higher.

"new" engine in. Needs bolting up and wiring, plus a bit of intercooler piping, and we are off to the races, as they say.

Got it to stumble tonight, but no further. This happened after I checked some ground wires, and ran another ground wire from the ignitor module. Smoke started coming out of the starter after a while though, so I stopped.

suspect blocked injectors. Reluctant to pull them because then the seals will leak.

Symptom: fuel pump going mad pumping fuel back to the tank. Changed fuel filter which helped the sound a bit.

Now with SR20DET. Yes, it is a big upgrade from the CA18... Updates to follow, but right now, I've got work to do!

Just a bit of body respraying to do and yes. And it is nuts. I spent the weekend cutting bodywork to fit the piping. It was a lot harder to do that than I envisioned. Dremels aren't that fast, especially when you're holding a shop vac hose in the other hand.

I wonder if 888's are as bad in standing water as they say. Hmmmm....

I was listening when they came on the air for the first time. 1977. We waited for WEEKS. FM! ALBUM rock!
Chuck Assarelo played Pet Shop Boys etc. for a while, then it went back to "Classic Rock".
Last weekend I had to delete it from the scan on my phone. I only tune in now for Elwood's blues show, and Ronnie Wood's show.
