It's gorgeous! Where do you store all these cars? You appear to be a in single garage town house and you don't have a tow vehicle?

GT6 was off site this winter <sniff> and is currently off site still while I get the race car ready.

No tow vehicle yet, but lots of friends with trucks...

But there is a master plan.

Tested the go pro camera in the case. Won't know for sure until I drive the car in June, but at the end of the video I do take the camera out of the case :)

BTW Almost at the 180 LBS weight. (Race medical in 2010 I was 215)

Racing has been a great motivator to shed some serious weight.

One day John. Right now I only have enough funding for 2 races a season.

Winter plans.

More cleaning.
Remove the excess metal.
The hood needs to be pinned for easier removal.

Head light covers to be welded in.
Image

All new pieces for the front suspension. (Upper and lower ball joints. Plus new poly bushings)
Image

New rear links. Also going to do a panhard bar with rose joints as the new lower setup means it needs to be adjusted too.
Image

A.
Some engine gaskets need to be replaced.

Completed driver front.

And now onto the passenger side. Armed with experience and the right tools this should go by quickly.

While I'm in there I will take the time to "adjust" some body work that was affected by a certain turn last summer.

Passenger side is apart with the inner bushing sleeves removed.

Just need to grind them clean, paint and rebuild.

Image

Started in on the wheel well today.
Another messy nasty job.

The garage was blue with dust when I had to stop to get on with other jobs.
Still another few hours and I'll be ready to paint and rebuild.

Image

Then on to the engine work and rear end. Maybe I'll be ready for June eh.

Last night went well. Funny how knowledge cuts the work time in half.

Back on 4 wheels and ready for the engine project.

Hey Andre .... you should also add a manual shut off valve in the Accusump plumbing.
Handy when your doing a lot of starting up and shutting down during tuning in the pits etc .
Or do you have an electric overide wired in for that ?

Yep. Initially it was tired into the main system and got changed very quickly.
Next job will be to put the gauge into the dash. With the hans on I can't see the pressure levels for shut down.

I got yelled at by another racer today.
"Take that damn rookie triangle off."

So I did.

A friend wanted to hear the FIAT.
So this year for the first real wake up I rolled out the old video camera with a real microphone.

Yes the neighbours are away on vacation :)

When I came back into the house my wife complained about the fuel smell on my cloths and my son said...
"HOLY THUNDER CATS DAD."

Needs to be retimed, finish off the alignment and an oil change, but at least she sounds wild.

Pre-race updates.

Annual tech inspection done.

Ran the engine last night. Just nice to just let her idle and clean out.
With even with x2 mufflers hanging off the pipe she be freaking loud.
So I do have to limit my runs to avoid the wrath of the neighbours.

Needed to do a 5,000 RPM tuning job.
I did manage to get her to rev 5,000 - 7,000 really nicely, but I will verify that at the track.
Where I can rev to my hearts content.

Headers received some attention and I painted them while I was at it.
Still not happy with the seal between the header and collector.
May have to see if I can find a clamp to go over that.
Image

At last years event a fellow FIAT driver had his DRS deploy during the race.
So I opted to install some latches. Yes I still have a lock and key.
Next year I'll go with a full pin setup.
Image

Pick up the truck and start loading next week.
