Next step, Sand blasting

Postby MNilson » Mon Apr 09, 2012 6:36 pm

So the other Xpit project moves forward

I got the new tubes welded in
Aluminum is in, cut and being bent
Rivets are on order
Picked up the new body
Hans device was delivered
Fuel cell looks good
Pedals are moving 3 inches in so I can reach them.
So now is the time to get the frame cleaned and ready for paint.
Still need to pick up the belts and trailer from Nigel... so

Any shops around to blast the frame?

Thanks Pat

I understand that RLD has outsourced thier sandblasting and the prices has risen accordingly. Looking for an alternative.

There is a place on the road to Almonte from 416. Sorry, don't remember the name.

There used to be another place in the industrial park that houses the OZDOME, again, no name.

Majestic Auto in Manotick do blasting as part of their restoration business.

I haven't actually used any of these & have no info on the quality/price of their work.

I once had some sandblasting done by a company the did gravestones! They were down near the intersection of Somerset & Welllington, so not far from your place.

I suggest trying Ottawa Quality Paint Finishing (http://oqpf.ca/home.php) They did the groomer for us.

I'll email you Eric's contact info.

Greg

Thanks Everyone!

I'm trying to get the Xpit F4 together, while doing my BABE rally car. The target for both of them is the end of May! and I have all this scrutineering to do!

... back to the garage

Blast-it-all.

They are now located on Hwy 29 about 200 m north on the left from the Hwy 49 (March Rd) / Hwy 29 stop light.

My go to place for blasting.

Yes, sand blasting. I'm sure that if you want some stuff blowed up they'd oblige though.
