Nice job guys, simple, structured and clear  did we drop the idea of the sixth or MOD class?

What's the number of points that bump you up a class? 15??

Yes, 15 points is the magic number to bump you up a class.

Can't give you any insight, Ralf. Suggest you follow-up with Alain to get the back story.

So a '99 miata with star spec's would be C+10?

I'm getting an alignment done that I suspect is outside the factory spec, but can't seem to find the factory spec. Anyone have stock miata alignment specs?

Re- helmet requirements, I'm guessing that a roll bar counts as a roll cage and would require a SA2000 helmet minimum?

You're fine with a M rated helmet with a roll bar.

This might be nice, as there seems to be more, and more heavily modded cars racing against guys bringing daily drivers into A class.

Damnit B class for the BMW.

Any insight into why a '91 318is = E+7 whereas a '92 318is = E?

I think the Helmet limit is M2005 or SA2005, I believe the M and SA 2000 are expired and cannot be used.

probably because it comes with a 4.10LSD, instead of a 3.XX open which the '92 has :P

According to the SCCA rules (now adopted in full by CASC-OR) M2000 is still accepted. Also, there appears to be zero mention of SA helmets and roll bars and/or roll cages. That is somewhat of a surprise.

I thought both "is" variants came with the optional LSD (ratios may have differed)

Unless I'm missing it, what about Honda Civic Si 1992?
Would it be E or E+7?

Most likely because they both put out the same power (same engines) and the e30 is smaller, lighter, and more nimble, making it a better starter autoX car (in stock configuration of course)

FYI CASC-OR 2011 Autoslalom rules are no longer valid and have been replaced by the SCCA rules. All of our rules reference the old rules.

Sweet, really? That's a few hundred less to budget in the roll bar/race bucket/6 point budget. :chug:

Having said that, it'd be wiser to have the SA, don't get me wrong. I'm planning on using the M2005 I currently have for this season, however next year, or even mid year if I find a deal, I'll be upgrading to an SA2010.

Personally - my open-faced M is better for AutoX - I'll be upgrading to a SA Full Face for lapping.

Concerned about all the fella's in A-class now Scott? I wonder why that could be ... and I second his motion in favour of a Mod class.

:)

Question....

I see there is a multi tier system for weight reduction prep points.... but I don't see points assigned to each? :insane:

Guy - have a look on the registration form:

Level 1 (<5% reduction): +5
Level 2 (5-10% reduction): +10
Level 3 (>10% reduction): +15
rollbar/cage: -2 (only if one of the above is already taken)

There used to be a section where adding a Fire Extinguished would offset the first level of weight reduction - it still there ?
