MCO 2012 TSD Rally Series - with results

It is with pleasure that I announce the MCO 2012 Doppelganger TSD Rally Series.

The dates are on the attached flyer. Note - the date of the rally in March has changed from initial list.

Details of the events, start location, times etc. will be announced closer to the dates. Robert Roaldi has already posted the notice for the Rideau Winter Rally.

Scoring for the series will change this year and when the details are finalized the rules will be posted. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions.

Any info on when/where the event will be March 31? How long will the event be? Got my new toy to play with, can't wait!!!

The details for the March 31st event are in the attached flyer. Come out and have some fun, we are going east of the city for this one, so some new roads to explore.

The key details are:

Start and Finish in Orleans at Highway 174 and Trim Rd.
From 174 turn south on Trim Rd. , then left onto Taylor Creek Blvd.
Orleans Bowling (bowling, billiards, arcade, snack bar)
885 Taylor Creek Blvd.

12:00 PM Registration Opens – Fee $35
12:30 PM informal beginner seminar
12:45 PM all competitor’s’ meeting
1:00 PM Start time
4:00 PM Finish time

Should be able to make it! Is it like the Rideau Winter ORRC in Perth? Same principle/rules?

And for your instructions, shouldn't it be turn right onto Taylor Creek Blvd? As you are coming in from the 174 going south on Trim, then turning right onto Taylor Creek?

edit: how does the scoring work exactly? Just by adding the total? our team having a total of 3.0 points, then adding the next rally's points and so-on?

Yes, the correct instruction when coming from the North is turn right from Trim onto Taylor Creek. Or left coming from the South.

The rally instructions are simple for Novices. To make it more interesting there will be a few different styles of instruction but each style is explained so anybody can do them.

Expert instructions will be for Experts.

The series will be scored according to RSO ORRC Rules.

Event points scored will be as follows:
1st 10 points, 6th 5 points
2nd 9 points, 7th 4 points
3rd 8 points, 8th 3 points
4th 7 points, 9th 2 points
5th 6 points, 10th 1 point

First post updated to include the results from the Eastern Lowlands Pasture Rally! Thanks to Jane and Jaak for a fun, challenging event. There are some good roads in the east end of town! Five teams came out including 3 brand new teams.

I've just had a look at the overall results and am wondering if there is a requirement to work at least one event in order to win an award. The scoring would take the best 5 out of 6 finishes, for example. Can someone enlighten me?

I don't believe there is any such requirement. It never came up at any meeting that I attended.

I guess I'm thinking back to "the good old days" when I first got involved with Rallying at MCO. People like Jim, Jaak and CraigH worked very hard, as well as competing. It was a very dynamic time for the RG.

It would be part of the Supp Regs, but I don't think it's the case.

I'm confused... Did the third place expert team take a penalty to collect 4th place points of 7 instead of 8?

How did the 3rd place drivers tie for 3rd, but the navigators were 3rd and 4th?

Congrats on getting out 4 brand new novice teams!

They've got the driver and navigator's names switched (Car 8) for the Cinderella Run rally -- either that, or they're wrong in the overall results.
