Mandatory Paperwork
For you to participate, the series organizers must have each of the following forms completed and filed for you and your car:

- 2012 MCO SoloII Registration Form
- 2012 MCO SoloII Self-Tech Form

Both can be found here: http://www.mco.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=270:autox-rules-2012&catid=12:autocross&Itemid=15

Complete the forms and bring them with you. Note that if you're note mechanically proficient, you should consider having your Self-Tech form completed by a professional mechanic. We recommend Canadian Tire on Carling -- call ahead and ask for Ralf.

The background information series rules and classing necessary to complete your registration form can be found here: http://www.mco.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=270:autox-rules-2012&catid=12:autocross&Itemid=15. It is your responsibility to read and understand fully of this material.

Notes About Registration
If you have a competition number that has been confirmed to be yours by series organizers (see this thread: http://www.mco.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14150 ), be sure to enter that number into Karelo when registering. If you have a number but fail to enter it into Karelo, a volunteer has to look you up on the system, find your number and enter it manually so that the timing software doesn't create a duplicate of you and assign it all of your points for that event.

If you do not have a number, contact el_torpedo or see the above thread to get a number before registering. [/b]

As well, please double check that your class is correctly displayed in Karelo. There are several cars which continually show up incorrectly because of errors in the Karelo save data feature, and it adds a surprising amount of time to my night prior to the event trying to get things sorted.

Entering a number into Karelo that you haven't already reserved in one of the ways above has following effects:
- you make a volunteer take time out of his Friday or Saturday night searching for registrants who have tried to claim numbers that aren't theirs, thereby frustrating the process of setting-up timing for the event
- you really annoy the volunteer, who more often than not, does timing at the event and knows everyone by name, face, and car.

Will there be tame racing drivers available to ride shotgun with newbies and provide pointers?

I was under the impression that Karelo now takes Interac Direct Debit. Worth checking.

The Interac/Direct Debit works very well - not too many hoops to jump through; I started using it with Karelo as soon as it was introduced.

That is most certainly our objective and should be your assumption. ;)

Just realized I forgot to print off the forms when I was at work, and I don't actually own a printer. Will there be forms available at the event to fill out? I did all the checks on the self-tech form using my laptop earlier in the week.

We won't have it posted tonight, but if you look at Event 4 from last year, it will be 95% similar.

Thanks for the great event everyone! Despite the rain, it was still an amazing time. Things I learned:

1) Don't fight the car.
2) Don't fight the car means when it starts to push, don't crank the wheel even more, idiot.
3) I'm amazed by the amount of grip start specs have in the wet.
4) It's entirely possible to drive back to Brockville in the pouring rain with the top down and not get wet.
5) Next Sunday can't come soon enough.

Thanks again everyone!

great event today I had my doubts when I saw the rain clouds rolling in but the afternoon turned out great......and wow does the center of that lot ever hold the water
And I learned that 6yr old Toyo RA1's still their grip in the wet and dry if properly stored......definitly getting my $ worth outta these tires :)

I took my 19yr old niece for a ride a long and now shes hooked so probably be showing her the lines whilst sharing the car next Sunday.
