Karting Ottawa?

Postby CrashCymbol » Sun Jul 03, 2005 5:04 pm

Where are the best places within let's say 2 hours of Ottawa for Karting? I mean both in terms of performance and in terms of price. I find places that require 1 ticket per lap to be frustrating as I cannot understand how you could lay down any form of race Or consistant run if you have to keep coming in for tickets.

I hear Amigo Karting in Gatineau is good, and I like the Top Karting. Other than that I think you are looking at a drive to Kingston for the next good karting place.

you need to go to St Roch De L'achigant
http://www.srakarting.com/

and Pointe du Lac
http://www.kartingpdl.com/contact.html

, it is betwen Montreal and Tree Riviere about 20/35 min pass Montreal, the Karts are 9.5 hp , they eaven have winter karts ! the engine are not lock , they are wide open , they are real race kart chasi , and the tires are real race tires ( slicks ), the tires will put the kart on 2 wheel if you go in the curv to hot and dont let go a bit of the fuel , the track is outside and they have real week-end event there , in that neck of the wood karting is like soccer in Europe .
if you have the balls and the $$ for it they rent 80cc 2cycle kart and dont forget the 125 shifter kart ( iI think that you need licence for that one )

have fun
hope it will help you

I saw SRA Karting facility a couple of years ago. What an incredible place!

They've got imbedded magnets throughout the track so that karts equipped with the proper equipment can get their sector times on the fly!!!

They have an annual membership fee where you can come by just about every day and be guaranteed blocks of running time in your own kart. I know if there was such a place nearby I'd be practically living there.

There are three kart tracks all within 1.5 hours of Ottawa. Karters Korner in Stittsville, St. Lawrence Motorsport Park in Ogdensburg, and Quyon racetrack in Quyon, P.Q. The National Capital Kart Club races at all three.
The club dealers all have arrive and drive programs from Honda 4stroke (90kph) to Rotax (170kph).
