Did you download for the right game? In your post above you mentioned R Factor.

Here is the download page: (note, those of us who downloaded it before will have version 3.0. I'm going to recommend that we all use the latest version 4.0)

Is it GTR2 or Rfactor that we're playing?

I was assuming GTR2 based on James' comments which led us to choose the venue and car.

Just an FYI it seems when you load V4 it says V3.1 in the game.

Oh and I got myself down to 1:29 flat. Lower gears courtesy of Greg -- which didn't make much difference to be honest, I found I was turning in a tad late on corner 1 that was 1/2 a second, sometimes I turn a tad late on corner 2 -- that results in grass or a good line and corner 9 is tricky you can carry a ton of speed if you get it right I was scrubbing off too much there with my line.

EDIT: Although I can't seem to find more time out there I can consistently run 1:29's now usually mid 1:29's I still feel I am doing corner 3 all wrong but I think I figured out the rest of the track pretty good ... but it is such a tough track to get a perfect lap on. One TINY mistake and you lose seconds.

A little slip on 5B and 1.5 seconds out the door! :|

Not having any luck here. Game works fine until I load the track gamedata/locations. Start the game, it tries, then crashes out. The file is not corrupt. I've downloaded it twice. No one else has a problem with the file? Could a hat file be causing a problem?

I can only remember have one problem with loading a track in a SimBin game. Not sure if it was GTR2 or GT Legends. There seems to be an upper limit to the number of tracks you can have. I tried adding one and it didn't work. After a couple of re-installs, I deleted the new track plus one other. Then I installed the new one without issue.

This is the only track I've added since a re install. The others are all default game tracks.

I've got the track installed OK.. its just that I can't find the mod for the MX-5's.. Anyone have a link?

I downloaded the Mosport file and unrar'd the whole thing into /GameData/Locations/ and it worked fine. At what point is your game crashing Pat?

I thought you said you had gotten the mod installed. Greg can you find the link to the miatas for GTR2?

When I double click the desktop icon the game tries to open (get the blank black screen before the intro kicks in, then the game crashes out with an error message. As soon as I remove the track the game starts right up no problem. This is the first outside track I've tried to install so far. I never had any problems installing any tracks in any game before. Drag and drop, start game.
The only change to the computer recently is a new video card but I don't know how that would affect just this one track unless its a config problem.

Pat I've had issues like that with rFactor and in all cases it was a corrupt file in the download. I re-downloaded and re-installed and it worked.

If the track folder is named something with characters not from the alphabet (like Mosport_1977, or something like that) You can try renaming it to something with letters only. I don't remember the circumstances, but that has fixed issues for me in the past. Also take a quick look in the Mosport folder and compare the contents to those of a standard track. Just to make sure the correct directory structure was used when you extracted the files.

The MX-5 Cup file has been deleted from no grip racing. I'll see if I can host it for a few days.

If you can send it to me, I'll put it up on a hosting site and we can link to it from there.

Well, I've done that already but I suppose I can try it again. I do remember something about that track as I've had it in gtr2 before. Can someone check their track file and see if you have deleted that underscore on a rename. BTW I'm on XP not vista so that shouldn't be an issue. another thing I can try is to download another track and see if the same thing happens. My kids home now and he's guess where?.....on the computer playing guess what?....WoW lol.
I'll boot him up to the laptop soon. What a highschool dork.

I've put both files up on a shared hosting site.. should have plenty of bandwidth.

MX-5 Cup Mod
Mosport 1977 v4.0

Let me know if you have any problems getting to them.

I've downloaded the track and I'll try to install it tomorrow am. I'm not optimistic as its the same track I've been trying to load. Maybe my downloaders corrupting it though. We'll see.

Always go with your instincts eh. Loaded the new track file this am and game crashes out at startup. Go to gamedata/locations/1977_MoSport. Rename file to just plain MoSport. Game opens perfectly.
I remembered before some people had this problem I'm not sure why but if anyone does this is the fix. And yes even though its 4.0 it says 3.1V.

How does 8pm Friday sound? I'll start the server up early for those who want to test their connection and perhaps get in on some online practice.

ok, rejigged my memory. Ran 127.53. Setup is very important on these cars. Now I remember why I like GTR2 so much. Pay particular attention to your gearbox. you should be getting 127mph at the end of the backstraight. max out your negative camber. Add some caster, watch your left side tires don't overheat.

Everytihg else, bars, springs, shocks, is up to you. Make one change at a time before going out. Default wing is at 2. I wouldn't go lower than that for fear of losing two much rear grip. I just lowered my rear spring rate. Enjoy.

I'm close on the speed getting to 202km/h not 204km/h (what's with this MPH) But if you do it with 2 wing there is something else better because I'm doing it with 1 wing. I have no problem on the corners though in the rear, front end slides before the rear gives me any troubles.

Sounds like I won't be very competitive with the current setup as I can only run 1:29.5 on a good run, any small mistake and it's 1:31 ish.

Turn 2 is a killer, turn in a fraction too late and you have to lift to get it to stay on track. I'll see if I can play with my setup a bit tonight. But it doesn't seem to matter what setup I run, I run the same time hahahaha. Kind of like real life, doesn't matter what I do to the car, I run the same time ;)
