Do I understand the rules correctly that in a closed car, a stock Corvette Z06, 2003, a 3 point belt is acceptable but a 6 point harness with a harness bar are not?
One actually must have a full roll bar to be able to use a racing seat with a 6 point harness?
Without such a roll bar one must stick with a standard seat, a standard 3 point belt and no Hans?
I would appreciate if someone would help clarify these points.
Thanks

Hi Mike:
First of all, I just want to make sure that by "Solo," that you're referring to SoloSprint/Time Trials (on race tracks), and not autocross (in parking lots). The rules in this area are quite different. So:
Harness bars: All designs that were on the market when the rule was written were not acceptable. However, something new may have come out. If so, then a case can be made. If you are an MCO member (sorry, I don't know), then I'll be the one making it. PM me and we'll get it worked out.
If you are wearing a HANS (i.e., w/FIA certification), and have a HANS-approved harness
and installation that does not use a rollbar, then, again, PM me and we'll get it worked out.
As an aside, the four-point belts that ScotcH is referring to are vehicle and model-year specific, and are not generic race belts. They can be run safely with no rollbar, but, again, a case must be made and the appropriate documentation submitted. Again, PM me.
Thanks!
