Bearing puller? Rent?

Postby wing » Fri Apr 24, 2009 8:44 pm

Need one tomorrow to pull my rear hub off, anywhere I can rent one or borrow from someone here? Or a mid-sized slid hammer would work... perhaps.

I know come cdn tires use to rent but they don't seem to anymore, part source?

PartSource rents certain tools - at least on Merivale.

check the cdn tire stores, I thought it was just the orleans store that stopped that?

rockland, and heron/bank locations still do.

sometimes they are 10$ at PA.

Are they expensive?

Maybe just buy one so I can borrow it from you in the future

Thanks All it seems like the only place in town that rents the puller is parts source on st laurent but I didn't bother to drive all the way there for the wrong thing so I just bought a puller at princess auto for 110.

So yeah Ian if you need to replace a wheel stud or bearing you borrow to bang it out. This is the third time I needed replace a stud this makes the job a lot easier.

Guess I'm a bit late on this one.
I have 4 pullers, James...
BTW, sounds like it's time for ARP studs. :D

Just used the new tool ... worked great! Thanks for the help James.

If Honda had just shaved a few mm notch in the knuckle the whole process would have been even easier though. It's definitely the most elaborate stud replacement that I've ever had to do.
