For the next one, I'm looking for anything people have on the Ted Powell weekend and the 60th Anniversary theme. Other articles are gladly accepted as well. Send them to link@mco.org

Cheers!

Aaarrgh. :poed: My computer doesn't download all pdfs. Bryan, are you printing any out? I guess I'll need a hard copy.

If anyone feels like printing this out and bringing it to the Rally Group meeting, that would be wonderful. I know there is material on Rallying in there . . . and I'd love to see it!

No worries, Bryan -- don't go to any trouble. I just want to read it, that's all.

I just tried Schmoo's suggestion . . . not bad, except that it said it would take an hour and a half to come in. :? This is what happens when you live in the country and have no-speed Internet.

thanks anyways!

Jeannie, you must be within range of the Storm wireless tower in Middleville, or another tower that is closer? I've been on it since the beginning - it rocks. City-like Internet bandwidth without having to deal with living in the city. ;)

Macs don't do text.. they only do graphics. Didn't you know that?

Anyway doPDF was used as a printer/export.. same thing that gets sent to the printers. On my linux box the fonts are a little different, but the layout doesn't change much. Try upgrading the pdf viewer, and if that doesn't work I'll see if theres an upgrade to the pdf writer..

Same problem here... Windows fonts? What are the fonts used? Font needs to be embedded in the PDF?

Let me know what font it uses and I'll load them up here on my Mac to see if the problem goes away.

Same on my Mac - pics and no text. Macs have standards compliant PDF support built in - there is nothing to upgrade. Something went awry with the export from doPDF.

For S&Gs I'm downloading the "real" Adobe Reader to see if it makes a difference. I'll let you know in about 5 minutes.

Adobe Reader 9 displays the fonts correctly on Mac. Gawd, is it painfully slow to start though (2.93 GHz Core 2 Duo).

The only thing we're in the middle of is a dead zone. It's so bad out here that when the phone lines go down, we have to drive up to the hill behind the house on Rosetta Road to get cell phone coverage. As for bandwidth :? I can't believe I ever had a company out here. I used to have to go to Jim's office sometimes to do research on the Internet, it's so slow and pathetic. City-like Internet bandwidth . . . what a dream!

I hope Bryan will bring some Links to the meeting next week!!

Many thanks to Jeannie for a fine synopsis of the LHFR 2009. It's good to have for the club history. Really nice issue to all involved.

Thanks, Craig.

Thanks to Al Gullon, I have extra copies and am spreading the word amongst some of our sponsors. I've left some copies at Otto's Subaru, and have some for Tonik Motorsports (Warren Haywood) and Whiticar Auto Body near Perth (Jerry Dowell).

Special thanks to Tom Hayston for getting out on the stages and capturing the cars in action, and to Greg Van Dalen for the shots taken in the Service area!
